ASUS X75A-DS51 17.3-Inch Deal

Warp Spedo: This laptop is probably the best bang for your buck out there right now. I purchased this laptop because I needed a portable computer to take with me to classes for notes so I figured almost anything would do, which lead me to the lower end of the price scale. The first thing I noticed is how beautiful the screen is. The color depth is spot on and everything looks sharp. Performance wise this guy has a dual core, hyper threading Intel i5 with 8 GB of ram, I have yet to see it lag at all. Other features include Bluetooth technology and a 750 GB hard drive separated in to 2 partitions which allows the OS to be recovered without removing data on the 2nd partition.

Mark Engstrom: I have owned multiple laptops and so far, this one is in my top 3 especially at this price range. I did a lot of research before purchasing and for what you get out of the box and compared to others is excellent. Nice bright display with good color depth. Performance wise it has a dual core, hyper threading Intel i5 with 8 GB of Ram. Compared to some other brands, you're going to pay a little more. The audio sounds goods, but I prefer headphones probably like most. The battery life could be a little better lasting in the 4-5 hour range with use. Now the biggest reason for the 4 rating is the 10key is a little awkward in it's placement there needs to be a little bit of a gap from the main keyboard, the touchpad takes some getting use too, there is a little more of the bloatware on it then probably some (I just uninstall it) and of course it's Windows 8 which is down right awful.

Amanda : Ok so I've only had the computer for 2 weeks but so far I love it! I had an hp laptop before but it was such a piece of crap, it eventually burned itself out after only 2.5 years, so getting a tough computer that would last a lot longer was what I was striving for and I got it with this laptop. As far as the review saying the disc drive runs constantly, they must have gotten a bad apple because it really doesn't. This computer is super quiet, and never gets hot. I don't do any hardcore gaming or anything though. I use it to watch movies on my tv via an HDMI cord, which works awesome, and for work so all of the storage really helps. I like that you can turn off the computer screen while connected to the tv so you can focus on the tv.

ASUS V500CA-BB31T 15.6-Inch Deal

Pamela J. Macchi : I researched which laptop to purchase for a good 6 months and I was deciding between an acer or asus. I do have an acer tablet and my sibling has an asus tablet so I knew which ever one I choose it would be a great product. At the last minute I decided to purchase an asus, I felt more comfortable knowing that asus has a great customer care service. I did purchase this product elsewhere as they had a better deal at the time. The laptop is thin and feels sturdy, looks amazing out the box. The laptop is listed at 4.6lbs, actually holding it I wasn't expecting it to be this heavy.

Eddie (Seattle, WA United States): The touchscreen response is great and makes windows 8 easier to use. I've read a few comments where people complained about the key board where the space buttons response isn't great but so far I've had no issue. I use the laptop mostly for streaming videos, school work and surfing web. When I stream videos it does drain the battery pretty quickly. Im still learning about shortcuts on the keyboard but overall Im happy with my purchase. This laptop is great, if your looking for a touchscreen laptop and don't want to spend a lot this is it.

Bryan J. Auerbach (Lynbrook, NY United States): I never rate any items but this computer is so awful I just wanted to warn anyone looking to purchase it. I can't for the life of me explain why any of the other reviews are anything above 1 star. The machine is so slow. I bought it to replace an 8 year old lap top and guess which computer I'm on now writing this review from. Nothing about it works well right down to the keyboard and trackpad. I wish I bought this on Amazon and not at Microcenter because I'm sure Amazon would allow me to return it. I can say without any question that this is the worst computer I've ever owned or will ever own. $500 in the toilet.

ASUS Vivobook V551LB-DB71T 15.6-Inch Deal

Computer whiz: I am wondering if the reviewer who gave the one star is knowledgeable at all about computers. I design them and I have to say the low power cpu, 15 w compared to one using much more translates into long battery life. Face it if you just use a base number and say it is terrible, you dont understand that the cpu speed scales with need. most time in a computer the cpu does little and its response is not required to be fast for those tasks as it is wasting power. this cpu can run from 1.8 to over 3 ghz depending on the need and allowing lower power consumption. The new Haswell processor also has a number of features that make it more efficient at lower speed meaning to accomplish a task it does not need to run as fast as an older processor to do the same work.

G. Shia : Maybe the person giving only one star works for apple, or maybe is just computer illiterate but either way it is saddening to see ranting rather than facts in reviews.Excellent hardware, speedy performance, amazing battery life! The new intel chip (4th gen) does this machine justice. Only weak point is the sound output underwhelms. The title says touch screen but my laptop is not. I don't care for touch screen in the first place but just so people know, there is no touch screen.

Preston Liddell (Dallas, TX): If I could rate it as 0 stars, thats what it would get. Computer is slow! Whatever processing power was supposed to be gained by having 8gb ram over 4 is easily lost in operating the touch screen. The computer is very sluggish switching in out of windows and the internet browser has crashed twice within 30 mins of operation; My inet speed is 30mbps. I'm boxing it back up as we speak. It looks impressive because its sleek and solidly built, but for $1100 someone should be prosecuted for selling this thing.

ASUS Vivobook V500CA-DB51T 15.6-Inch Deal

Ram Kumar (Atlanta, GA) : ASUS makes quality products and this notebook is a reflection of its quality. The ultrabook is very thin although little heavy (due to glass screen). Connected to my existing router in a snap and after about 30 mins of Windows 8 update it worked flawlessly. The display is crisp though not full HD. The batter life is quite good and I am able to get about 4.5 hours consistently. The touchscreen is very responsive and very user friendly once you get used to it. The performance is very good. I purchased external DVD-RW add on for a small price. Overall an excellent laptop!

R. RAMIREZ "all-around IT dude" (Kew Gardens, NY United States): I am an information technology professional who relies on ASUS products. This ultrabook runs smoothly, boots up super fast, it has a responsive touch screen and is very light. I had a big and bulky Toshiba Qosmio desktop replacement laptop that weighed about 19 pounds. I gave it to my sister and decided to upgrade to a current laptop. The ASUS VivoBook V500 seemed like the obvious choice for me.

Kelsey e. fields: This is a great notebook! It has an amazing sound and a extremely bright display. I have an older Hp laptop that has a 17" screen. The screen size made it difficult to transport, so buying this 15.6" notebook was a good decision. This Asus also has a fast start up, and is very responsive during multi-tasking. I am still in the learning process for windows8.This is the best laptop for student, staff.. The design is very beautiful. this laptop is thin and light. You can bring it everywhere, sometime I carry it on the bed. The system is strong. you can run games and every normal programs.

ASUS G75VW-DS72 17.3-Inch Deal

Ychen: Some bugs with the sound system where the subwoofer doesn't turn off until the lowest decibel. The resting pad is changed into a foamy texture instead of the soft rubber texture from G74x. This version comes with only 12 Gb instead of 16 Gb, but you have an easy access slot for expand. There are 2 hard drives but they are both partitioned giving you 4 smaller hard drives, not sure why they did that. 3D function is great but it turns down the screen resolution when in use and makes your backlit keyboard into a strobe light. Kinda wish they had one of the hard drive for loading OS as SSD.

Chris Sutton (Omaha, NE United States): So far, I've enjoyed my new RoG laptop to the fullest. It has a great aesthetic, and doesn't skimp on performance. The 1 Year Accidental Damage coverage is amazing as always. The system comes with a pre-installed gadget that lets you switch from "high performance" to "battery saving", essentially throttling the proccesor and GPU to extend off-cable life. The stereoscopic 3D on this model is quite good, though it wasn't my main reason for the purchase. There are a few downsides, but nothing too terrible. Like most gaming laptops, it is very large and heavy, has low battery life (about 2 1/2 hours), and gets hot quickly (ventilation is excellent, however, and I haven't noticed any performance issues related to heat).

Cannon: I cannot recommend the G75VW-DS73-3D which is a pity as it's a nice looking machine when its working. In fairness to Asus after months of haggling they sent me a replacement G75 at their expense. But it has the exact same hangs freezes and system lockups! Is this coincidence? A bad batch perhaps? I don't know, so I'll leave it to the prospective buyer to decide.... Nvidia Driver updates do not fix the problem believe me I've tried, and Asus VIP support is the absolute worst!

ASUS X550CA-DB51 15.6-Inch Deal

Anibal: I've been learning Windows 8 and figuring out everything I can with this laptop and so far it's been amazing! Terrific picture quality and great sound! Apps run smoothly, Netflix and iTunes work great! Everything I could want in a laptop for school and work. So slim and light. I've only had it for the day but so far it's everything I wanted. Great buy and Great price!! Being someone who is not very tech savvy I found this laptop easy to use and learn. Also it's so quiet when running programs and even just starting up. I totally recommend this laptop for everyone.

Fabricio Gallo Paulon: Overall I like the computer but the track pad is so sensitive that by merely resting my left wrist on the computer - it swishes the window that I am working on away and I have to search for it. Windows 8 is probably the biggest issue as it is a totally unintuitive operating system and requires extra steps for simple functions. You have to completely exit a document just to save it. And while I understand this is not the computer itself, it is what is running the computer.

Richard smith (CASTLE ROCK, CO, US):  The audio is absolutely NOT accurate!! I do voice over and that is what I bought this computer for. In listening back my recording sounded too bad to be acceptable and I got scared, only to find out that it's the audio coming through the jack, using my interface I heard the audio as it was recorded which was fine. Hence, if audio quality is important to you DO NOT use this laptop for that! I am not forced to use my audio interface even for my preliminary editting/QC checks. This IS ASUS's fault and frustrates me. The last one didn't have this problem.

ASUS K55A-DS71 15.6-Inch Deal

Jake Allen: Just a heads up, be careful if you buy the warranty from SquareTrade, under as Frequently Bought Together.. they automatically stick you with the $600-700 package, but once you pay for this laptop after tax (just the laptop) it comes to $713.51 I was lucky enough to cancel mine quickly when I realized that the insurance wouldn't cover this laptop if anything were irreparable and they had to issue me a new one, as the lady told me over the phone, in order for that to happen you need to have the complete cost of the laptop covered in your warranty price. So I canceled it before it charged to my card, and went with the $700-800 coverage. Just thought I'd give a heads up to everyone. I bought this laptop for my daughter, I will be having her write a review on it once it gets here and she has a chance to try it out for awhile.

Carol Keener: Windows 8 in this model is terrible. Just 2 days after starting the laptop up, Win 8 crashed and continues to do so at least twice a day. Search *Windows 8 crash* and there's a lot of posts on forums as well as other sites. Microsoft's forum on their site has complaints exactly like mine and have been awaiting a Microsoft person to address this problem for a good long while. NOTE: The Amazon rep said he's seeing a number of pcs and laptops with Windows 8 customer complaints and returns.

April A. Nollmann (Texas, USA): My advice is to stick with Windows 7 or Vista. Windows 8 seems to be unstable whether it's turned on fresh from being off, after sleep, or hibernation. Nothing seems to help unless one runs a registry and junk cleaner of which I use 3. So is it a Win 8 bug that causes the system to be more unstable? I think so. I just try to minimize the chance of a crash by constantly cleaning the system. I do know Amazon's live chat with a representative worked and this thing will leave this house.

ASUS A550CA-EB51 15.6-Inch Deal

Hunter (22 Knightbridge Road): Its not as good as I expected. I have the same problem as another customer where the spacebar doesn't register sometimes. The battery life isn't very long so it has to stay plugged in for most of the time. The Startup is also a little slow. So overall rating, not impressed. Gonna return It and buy a different computer.

Geralyn Mercado (Reading, PA): I ordered a new laptop, but they sent me a refurbished laptop with pre-used problems. The space bar had to be pressed hard on the right side to work and on the second day I had it, the mouse wouldn't move and the screen would freeze up repeatedly! I had to turn it off then back on to make it work, but it would eventually happen again. Lastly, it kept overheating to the point where I thought it was going to catch fire. This laptop was horrible! I would not recommend this to anyone!

Marcia Bisaga: I seldom write one star reviews but this computer earned it. It has been rather slow from the beginning, and now after a year, it is virtually usable, No, I don't have tons of popups or anything on it and I do not go to porn sites. All i do with it is software development. I upgraded my RAM to 8 GB and it's got 4 GB free, and the CPU monitor says CPU is 35% but the computer is unusable. I am very unhappy with asus in general and this laptop in particular. Buy anything else!

ASUS X202E-DB21T 11.6-Inch Deal

Tyler D (Denver, CO USA): I love Asus, and most know that they create quality computers. A side note, my cousin's fiance has been working at Best Buy for five years as a part of the Geek Squad and informed me about the best computers on the market (Asus being one of those top brands). I also own a larger, 15.6-inch Asus laptop. My reason for purchasing this laptop is for the upcoming school year; I wanted something light, portable, sufficient memory, and multi-functional. I am a software engineer, so I wanted something that I could use for coding, as well as for taking notes in other classes. This computer is brilliant. I have been using it for hours and am entirely satisfied.

Wwjoshdew" (KCMO): My ASUS G750JX-DB71 came with a 256GB SSD and I went to swap it out with my 480GB SSD that I put in my old G74SX. When I took out the G750's SSD, I realized it was a 7mm SSD, which fits PERFECTLY in the X202E. This thing boots up in just a few seconds, and now it even comes out of standby faster. With the 500GB HDD (that came with it), there would be times when you had Chrome open (with a few tabs) and you wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING for a little bit. When you look down, you'd see the HDD light staying SOLID.

Radashack : After returning the ASUS Vivotab Smart Tablet because of weird and unexplained quirks and failures, I ordered this one because of the more traditional specs and full-blown Windows 8. After some software anomalies in respect to Windows Update, (it doesn't tell you the progress of the downloads and installation which makes you think nothing is happening), but everything else worked fine. I was very disappointed in the description of this unit when Amazon failed to mention that THIS model DID NOT have Bluetooth (I just assumed it did). Not a problem though because I ordered the Kinivo BTD-400 Bluetooth Adapter, plugged it in, and the software automatically downloaded (Windows 8), and this thing grabbed Bluetooth devices I didn't know I had!

ASUS Transformer Book T100TA-C1-GR 10.1-Inch Deal

Kyle "cylem" (Brighton, MI) :Last years set of windows 8 tablets were a great start to getting windows 8 into the ultra mobile arena. The Atom processors in them kept them thing, cool, and energy efficient all while allowing us to run a full windows operating system halfway decently. They weren't perfect, with limitations like usb 2.0, 2gb of ram, poor graphics, and a sometimes lackluster desktop performance. Intel sets to out do itself with the newer Baytrail chipset giving better processing and video performance as well as compatibility with newer technologies. With windows 8.1 a while slew of new tablets are being released with newer processors and other updated specs, the Asus T100 is one of the first.

Daniel J. Hoffman (Philadelphia, PA): Asus was the manufacturer of the best motherboards available 25 years ago. They know hardware well. My Linux based EEE PC 1000 was my device of choice for years, before the days of tablets, because it was so portable. The T100TA is about the same size, weighs a fourth as much, has respectable processor power, and mine has been running on battery for about 7 hours now and seems to have a quarter tank left. Like the EEE, this device put good electronics in an ok package.

Ruined (NJ, USA): I bought this product because my last computer is on its way out. I'm a teacher, and there were a few must-haves on my list for whichever computer I ended up buying (Microsoft Office, portability, battery life, a real keyboard for lesson-planning and note-taking, and full Windows capability were the big ones). Because of those needs, I pretty much gave up on the idea of buying a tablet. Most tablets with those functions weren't anywhere near my price point, and then you had to buy a keyboard dock on top of that. When I found out about the T100, I decided to give it a shot because it tackled each of my main needs while keeping a relatively low cost.

ASUS 1015E-DS03 10.1-Inch Deal

John Hancock (N.C.): Amazing notebook for under $250, fast shipping from Amazon. I've had it for a week and it has performed flawlessly for what my wife and I use it for. We wanted a
small notebook that can be easily carried around the house, as well as taking on trips. It's great for web browsing, watching youtube videos(search ubuntu-restricted-extras), typing documents using libreoffice, etc. Battery lasts 4.5-6 hours or so, depending on usage.

Peter Besenbruch: The keyboard is usable, if a bit squishy in its feel. One positive is that Asus put a second function key next to the arrow keys. The biggest complaint typists will have is that the spacing from hand rest to screen is cramped. You may miss when changing rows. The touchpad is one of those with the buttons integrated. The bottom of the touchpad clicks. Click feel is lousy. The pad surface is cramped. I never tested the touch aspect with the supplied Ubuntu, but I can say that with Debian, it is quite good, responding well to swipes, and one through three fingered taps.

RobtA "RobtA" (Florida, FL USA): The device becomes warm on its left side. This can be felt on the bottom (it will warm your leg, if you have it there) and on your left palm. The Windows version has extra ASUS software to minimize power and prolong battery life. On Linux (Ubuntu) you will have to use Linux methods, meaning that you might not get the advertised 7.5 hours battery life. Be sure that your system power settings are for power savings rather than for fastest CPU; that might not be the default. If you are an experienced Linux user who wishes to experiment, the PowerTOP program can help you to optimize your power. Not for noobs.

ASUS G750JW-DB71 17.3-Inch Deal

Saint04: The display has great viewing angles. If you check out Asus's website, they state it has a 140 degree viewing angle. The Alienware has an upgrade panel of 1080p with IPS technology. This is relevant because IPS is known for it's great viewing angles while the TN panels such as the one in the Asus aren't. However, TN panels have quicker response time and are better for gaming in my opinion. The Asus screen produces rich and Vibrant colors. Also, the TN panel in the Asus has great viewing angles countering the stereotype of poor viewing angles. While not an IPS, it will more than suffice for gaming. IPS panels are also prone to light bleed in which light from behind the panel can be seen above the screen on occasion.

Jonicraw "Jona" (Windy City/Chicago): Considering how much there is to say about this laptop, I will simply get to the point. I haven't exactly pushed the limits on this beast yet but I can surely say to everyone I know or want to inform that this machine is the 2013 portable power house. Specs are constantly getting better and better by the day and technology is exponentially growing at a cool and "scary" rate. Regardless, I will talk about what improvements I did to the laptop rather than how cool it is.

Michael Barnathan: The external finish is kind of blocky, but when you open it up, it's gorgeous, with a very nice brushed aluminum look that unfortunately smudges very easily. As the other poster said, you're going to get fingerprints on it; it's inevitable. Heck, it even smudges on its own when it gets a little bit humid out. This laptop has a matte display, which I find does a much better job of reducing glare than my previous glossy laptop display, at the expense of gamut width (nevertheless, I was able to get a ~90% overlap with sRGB on mine, so it's not bad).

ASUS X750JB-DB71 17.3-Inch Deal

M. Erb : I am not going to rate this laptop poorly because it does not have a touchscreen but it is something that you really need to consider if you are thinking about buying this laptop. I've struggled for nearly a year with a Lenovo laptop that also came with Windows 8 and also does not have a touchscreen. You may regret getting a Windows 8 laptop that does not have a touchscreen.

S. R. (USA): Let me start by stating that I am a novice laptop user, thus, this review will be free of the technical jargon that can otherwise be found in more expert reviews. My initial impression upon unboxing the Asus laptop was that it was very sleek and stylish looking. The concentric circle finish really does eliminate those annoying smudges and fingerprints. I was also surprised to see the layout of the keyboard was similar to a standard PC keyboard, with enough spacing between the keys so as to not be a hindrance to those with thicker fingers.

N. Krumpe (Ohio): Some background: I'm not a PC gamer, so I'm not able to comment on things like frames-per-second on various games. I'm sure other reviewers will touch on the gaming goodness or badness of this laptop. Rather than gaming, my PC life is focused on business applications...I need Microsoft Office to run quickly. I need to take frequent screenshots. I need to collaborate on Google documents. I also do/teach Java programming, so I need an environment where I can quickly throw together a program, compile it, and run it.

ASUS VivoBook X200CA-DB01T 11.6-Inch Deal

Granite Bay Golfer: Got one because of the price and the touch screen. Works very well, touch screen works as advertised. Screen display and keyboard are good. The issue I have is that the memory is basically fixed at 2GB. Early on I'd read that this was going to allow up to 8GB, which I assumed was user upgradeable. This is not the case. ASUS told me that the max is 4GB and that it can only be done at a service center. "On board" memory is evidently soldered to the motherboard.

Enchanted In Dixie "Enchanted" (LOWER ALABAMA USA): The keyboard is a traditional laptop Chiclet Style Keyboard setup with center scroll pad. You can use both the touch and key board interchangeably. It was sometimes quicker to use the touch screen to navigate where I needed to go. * It does vent on the left and it gets hot, Do not block the vents.Voice command works great. I love to be able to talk instead of typing. I was able to talk up to two and a half feet away, and it picked up my words well.

Ustin_Larry (Austin, TX USA): I completely love the ASUS VivoBook laptop! For quite a while now, I've wanted something small, yet versatile, for both personal and work business. Not to mention something I can easily access my favorite websites or play games on, and this laptop fit the bill perfectly! It comes packaged quite nicely with a small handle, and once you open the package there is only the laptop and the battery to charge it inside. No mess, no fuss. I did plug the battery to the left side port, and tried to charge it, but realized when the green light flashed that it came already pre-charged, which was great since I could dive right in and get to know my new laptop.

Asus - 11.6" Windows 8 Touch-Screen Deal

Susan W. MacLeod : I use this for home finance, web surfing, some word processing and a little video, photo and sound editing. The keys are a little small and take some getting used to. I am a touch typist and find the small keys a little annoying. Also the case edges are sharp and since the base is a bit wider than my old netbook it slips around a bit more on my lap. And the built-in battery does concern me; I hope when the time comes that replacing it won't be difficult.

Bernie (Austin, TX): Let me tell you about my Asus laptop / Amazon experience. I found this laptop at a great price on Amazon and decided to order it. It arrived quickly even using super-saver (free) shipping, however once I opened it I realized it had been damaged during shipping. I turned it on and it worked great, but the case was dented/damaged so I decided to send it back. I was already anticipating having to fight with Amazon when I contacted them using the chat feature and ‘spoke’ with Richard to see what could be done.

Amnieris Gonzalez : I've been loving my laptop I'm sorry some people had a bad experience and I'm grateful mine laptop is working just fine. I love the touchscreen comes in handy for a couple of things specially scrolling. Didn't have to install anything to use my printer it found it right away lol I was so happy. And the battery last enough. One time it says the remaining time was 6 hours which I doubt any battery could last that long but if i HAD to choose a length of time I would say 4 hours but don't quote me on it I'm not sure. I find myself using windows 8 wit ease.

ASUS K55N-DB81 15.6-Inch Deal

Xplics: I am just so pleased with this ASUS laptop. I have now been playing and messing with the new laptop as well as the new to me Windows 8 which overall is not that bad once you get the hang of it. As for the laptop I did my studying before jumping in and buying a decent priced laptop. I decided to go with this laptop due to the price, specs, and having dealt with ASUS with my Nexus 7 which everyone knows was incredible for the price. I was shopping around for a few days before making my mind up on this laptop. I am very pleased with this purchase.

D. A. Galloway : The AMD A8 is a stellar processor (or rather, "APU"). You can now officially play most of the games on the market with a laptop under 400 dollars. In a recent test, the only game that really pushed it past the limit and couldn't run was the latest Crysis, which pushes just about anything to its limits. While Intel makes great CPUs, they've focused too much on high-end raw processing power for desktops/servers and most of their affordable laptop hardware is sorely lacking for VIDEO performance. Thanks to Amazon for taking my Intel i3 back so I could order one of these instead.

Charse: The laptop itself is a truly amazing product. I was fortunate enough to purchase this laptop whilst it was slightly cheaper, but even now the ASUS K55 is an incredible "bang for your buck." There are absolutely no regrets towards purchasing this laptop. Unfortunately I have come across a small issue regarding the screen, and have no clue how it was conceived. This laptop has been under my care for at least two weeks, all the while furiously curb-stomping any task I have thrown at it, but for some reason the screen has started to fail on me. The top, roughly 1/6th, portion of the screen is completely incapable of anything other than emitting a funky grey or yellow color.

ASUS F55A-ES01 15.6-Inch Deal

Jim MacLaury : Nice shape, very good keyboard design, it's not the best laptop in the market for sure, If you are looking to play the latest heavy duty 3D games, for sure you should look for something else, but for daily use, Internet with multi tabs on the browser, Chat software, Skype, Play basic games, type word documents, spreed sheets, it's very useful. Yes if you compare some other laptops with this one, they may load the operating system faster with one or two seconds, and run the other software faster with 1 sec, but for sure that does not bother me for the price I spend on this laptop.

Deb H "Deb H" (Washington State) : Well I just ordered this computer two days ago and it came today. Truthfully I didn't know what to expect. I've spent sometime getting used to the operating system and getting a feel for the computer. So far I like it and Windows 8 is not as bad as some make it out to be. I am satisfied with the computer and it was at a fair price. However this computer lags a lot and is very slow at times.. I was looking into buying a beefier laptop but I believe this will be good enough for now. If your looking for a fast computer this is not for you. It's very light (cheaply made) but nice.

Jw "jw" (Colorado Springs, CO United States): I have another low end ASUS and continue to have a great experience with it. I plan to use this new one as a back up computer. It was fast enough and easy to use right out of the box. Then, I downloaded Office 365 and the system was sluggish. I uninstalled the software and it is much better again. When camping I run out of battery charge and need a second computer so I can continue writing. Wordpad, which is already installed, meets my needs under these circumstances. Yes, I know I could get a back-up battery for the other computer, but this newer one has a longer battery life than the old one and it has a cd drive, unlike the old one. Happy, but only rated 4 since it couldn't handle Office 365.
